Project 2

POSTER AND SEMINAR-CONTEMPORARY ISSUES IN ASIAN ARCHITECTURE

Brief

This project is research-oriented, requiring students to critically analyze key issues identified during their site visit. Adopting a problem-based learning approach, students develop an appraisal framework within a defined scope through weekly group discussions facilitated by tutors. This learning process culminates in proposing potential solutions, with findings presented as a research poster and a seminar presentation.

Task

For this task, I was assigned to form a group of 6-7 members to identify a significant issue based on observations from Project 1. After forming the group, we expanded our study of the street. We then developed a research title that accurately reflects our study's intention and specific scope within the context of Jalan Tun H.S Lee. Our final deliverables included creating a research poster to visually represent our findings and producing a video presentation.

REFLECTION

By completing the first assignment, I have developed Taylor's Graduate Capabilities (TGC) 1.0, focusing on Discipline Specific Knowledge. This experience allowed me to apply theoretical concepts to practical situations and understand ethical issues within my field of study. Through researching Jalan Tun H.S Lee, I gained insights into professional practices, showcasing my ability to apply knowledge and skills effectively.

Additionally, I enhanced my ability to work both independently and collaboratively, as well as locate, extract, synthesize, and utilize information efficiently. I also improved my communication skills, effectively interacting with my group members in various settings. Although we faced some challenges, the experience was ultimately rewarding and enjoyable.
