Project 1a
Pre-Design Studies & Analysis
An urban living room where heritage meets everyday life. Positioned between KOMTAR and Sia Boey, the project creates a shared civic space for people to gather, connect, create, and experience culture. Through shade, greenery, movement, and informal activities, it transforms the in-between into a living cultural gateway—where the past and present coexist.
Project 1b
Design Strategies and Exploration
Project to transform the Urban Living Room from an urban idea into an architectural response. Through exploring space, movement, form, materiality, and structure, the project develops a civic environment that encourages people to pause, connect, create, and engage. It focuses on creating a flexible and climate-responsive architecture that strengthens George Town’s identity while turning everyday public life into a meaningful spatial experience.
Project 1c
Final Design Presentation & Report
Project to bring the design from exploration to resolution, transforming the Urban Living Room concept into a fully developed architectural proposal. It integrates spatial planning, structure, materiality, environmental strategies, and technical detailing to create an architecture that is both meaningful and buildable. The final stage focuses on how light, material, structure, and climate shape the experience of the building, allowing the project to become a refined response to its site, people, and cultural context.
